Rainwater Harvesting Calculator

This is how you do it:

Identify your region and the town closest to you on the provided map.

  1. Click on the name of the town in the dropdown menu
  2. Insert the total surface of your roof in square meters (m2) in the space provided. If in doubt, just pace out the length and width of the house.
  3. Insert your average monthly water consumption in litres in the space provided. You can get this from your municipality bill. If your municipality water bill shows your water consumption in kilolitres simply multiply the kilolitres by 1000 to get to the litre consumption. (1kilolitre = 1000 Litres)
  4. CALCULATE YOUR AVERAGE ANNUAL RAINWATER HARVESTING POTENTIAL AND IDEAL TANK SIZE.

Disclaimer: The values calculated here should be taken as a working guide, it does not take into account other effects (such as drought conditions) and how complete the source data coverage is.
